Introducing OceanWell

Modular, subsea Water Farms

OceanWell’s technology utilizes the natural hydrostatic pressure found at depths of 400 meters below sea level to drive the reverse osmosis process. This method reduces energy requirements by up to 40% compared to a state of the art land-based system. The system does not use any chemicals and does not produce a strong brine outfall, minimizing ecological disruption and preventing any harm to marine life through its LifeSafeTM intake system.

Gal/day per Pod

Each Pod has a daily production capacity of 1 million gallons (40,000m3) of high quality fresh water. A collection of Pods is called a "Water Farm".

A Water Farm Capacity is Unlimited

The modularity of the Pods unables us to scale each project in line with demand, benefitting from efficient unit costs and fast deployment.

LifeSafeTM intake system

Our LifeSafe intake uses multiple layers of fine screens (~500 microns) to prevent entrainment and low velocity speed to prevent impingement into the system. Any organisms small enough to pass through the outer filerations will be evacuated back out into the ocean.

Water Farms
Unit Cost Efficiency
Market-leading unit economics, driven by a reduced energy footprint, and fewer components that would ordinarily be needed to artificially generate pressure onshore.
Fast Deployment and Scalability
This facilitates an “infrastructure on demand” expansion model. Our pods will be manufactured offsite and installed in a matter of months. This brings cost visibility to aid long-term capital planning.
Cold, pure water
Water in the aphotic zone is both cleaner and colder than surface water. This creates large scale, carbon-zero, cooling capacity suitable for co-located industrial uses such as data centers and district cooling.
Flexible Energy Use
The  system can be spun up and down quickly and coupled with storage, allowing for optimization of power costs and opportunistic load shedding. This better suits integration with the renewable grid.
Environmental Impact
Our proprietary LifeSafe intake system avoids harm to all marine life. We do not need to use any chemicals to pre-treat the water and the system does not produce a brine strong brine to impact its
Climate Resilience
Climate resilience, deep ocean location shelters the system from extreme weather events, algae blooms, sea level changes, and other unforeseen climate risks.

Ultra Clean Water

Our water is not only free from salt. We filter out bacteria, viruses, pesticides, and PFAS, ensuring that we produce only healthy, high-quality fresh water. This rigorous purification process guarantees that every drop is safe, clean, and pure for consumption.
